Sukkot is the time of harvesting and welcoming the stranger. Join LFJCC Cares in partnership with Coastal Roots Farm in exploring the relationship between our land, our food, and Sukkot during this FREE program! Participants will be able to see the Sukkah built on the Farm and how this temporary structure is a symbol for welcoming guests into our space (virtually or in person). In connection to Sukkot, you will learn and appreciate how Jewish law promotes food justice and walk away feeling empowered to support the community.

This interactive program involves a short tour of the Farm, a close look at different crops and how they’re each harvested, a discussion of ma’aser (donating 10%) versus what the Farm donates (more than 50%), and discussing creative ways people are doing food justice in the world today.

Ages: Teens-Adults
